Scott Miller is the Associate Dean for Industry Partnerships at the Russ College of Engineering and Technology, Ohio University. He plays a pivotal role in advancing industry collaboration at the Russ Research Center in Beavercreek, Ohio, focusing on aerospace, cybersecurity, advanced materials, digital manufacturing, and autonomous systems. He is also affiliated with the Ohio Center for Ecology and Evolutionary Studies (OCEES).
His research interests center on interdisciplinary approaches to energy, environment, and economic development. Key areas include:
- Climate change policy and adaptation
- Watershed and environmental management
- Energy transition in the Appalachian basin
- Public-private research partnerships
- Technology commercialization and innovation
Miller has received significant recognition for his leadership, including being named by Crain’s Magazine as one of the most influential figures in Ohio’s Utica Shale Play.
He has led major initiatives such as the Consortium for Energy, Economics and the Environment (CE3) and served as principal program manager for Ohio’s Climate Change Action Plan. He currently represents Ohio University in the Indiana Innovation Institute (IN3) and serves on the Corporate Engagement Task Force. Miller also led the University Clean Energy Alliance of Ohio as board chair.
He has been instrumental in building the Russ Research Center, a 60-acre commercialization park, and continues to strengthen Ohio University’s ties with government and industry partners.
