Scott Huntly is a Lecturer in Politics at the University of Suffolk and a PhD candidate in the Department of Government at the University of Essex. His research focuses on the political discourse of evangelicalism post-Trump, employing poststructuralist discourse analysis. He teaches modules including History of Political Thought, Contemporary Political Theory, and Political Discourse. His academic supervision is under Professor David Howarth at Essex.
Research interests include theories/methods of discourse analysis, political discourse of faith-based movements, free speech, fundamentalisms, culture wars, and political theories of the body and senses. He is affiliated with Colchester Campus, University of Essex.
- Scientific Award: Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
His doctoral thesis, A Crisis of Faith: the Political Discourse of Evangelicalism after Trump, explores evolving evangelical political narratives through a poststructuralist lens.
