Scott Hileman is a Teaching Professor in the Department of History at Coastal Carolina University's College of Humanities. He specializes in Modern European, Non-Western, Diplomatic, and Military History, with particular focus on World War I & II, the two Indochina Wars, and Decolonization processes. His teaching portfolio includes Modern World and American History courses.

Hileman previously taught at Longwood University, the University of South Carolina, and the University of Tennessee-Southern. During his graduate studies at USC, he worked on the private papers of General William Westmoreland, American commander in Vietnam (1964-1968), archived at the Caroliniana Library. His research integrates military history with broader geopolitical and cultural analysis.
