Scott Crawford

Scott Crawford is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, affiliated with the departments of Biomedical Engineering, Kinesiology, and Orthopedics & Rehabilitation. He holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Cedarville University and MS/PhD in biomedical engineering from The Ohio State University. His postdoctoral training as an NIH-funded TL1 Postdoctoral Trainee at UW-Madison focused on musculotendinous injury and rehabilitation.

Dr. Crawford’s research integrates biomechanics and biomedical engineering to study changes in tissue properties post-injury, with a focus on applications in sports medicine, physical therapy, and musculoskeletal recovery. His work leverages ultrasound imaging, spatial frequency analysis, and shear wave elastography to quantify tissue organization and optimize rehabilitation strategies.

Recent publications highlight his expertise in hamstring strain injury, Achilles tendinopathy, spatial frequency analysis, and massage therapy efficacy. His methodologies emphasize reliability studies, muscle morphology, and quantitative imaging to advance sports injury prevention.
