Scott Cederburg is a Professor of Finance and the Thomas C. Moses Endowed Chair in Finance at the Eller College of Management, University of Arizona. He has held academic appointments at Tulane University as a Visiting Assistant Professor and advanced from Assistant Professor to Professor at Arizona since 2011, including fellowships as Sheafe/Neill/Estes Fellow in Finance (2018–2023).

His research bridges empirical and theoretical asset pricing, focusing on long-run investment risk, retirement security, stock return predictability, and mutual fund performance. He applies Bayesian econometrics to analyze cross-sectional anomalies, factor models, and dynamic asset allocation, with work appearing in top journals like the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies.
His publications highlight trends in volatility-managed portfolios, intertemporal risk pricing, and retirement diversification. His 2018 TIAA Paul A. Samuelson Award-winning research on tax uncertainty and retirement savings has garnered attention from The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and CNBC.
