Dr. Scott Blonigen serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at Benedictine College, teaching since 2015 with responsibilities spanning freshman introduction to engineering and chemical engineering senior design/process controls courses. He acts as faculty advisor for the Benedictine AIChE student chapter, fostering professional development.
His educational foundation includes:
- BS in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (1986)
- MS in Chemical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University (1989)
- PhD in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University (1994)
Leveraging over two decades of industry expertise from roles at Kraft Foods, Nestlé, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Mead Johnson Nutritionals, Hills Pet Nutrition, and Battelle Memorial Institute consulting, his research concentrates on chemical engineering applications in process optimization and product development. This practical background directly informs his pedagogical approach.
Dr. Blonigen maintains active professional credentials as a licensed Ohio Professional Engineer.
