Dr. Scott Andrew Brown is a Research Fellow in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. He joined the university in 2023, working with Professor Chris Price on solvent recovery and reuse in pharmaceutical product development. Previously, he conducted his PhD research under Dr. Stuart D. Robertson in the Chemistry Department, focusing on cationic magnesium complexes for post-lithium battery technologies. His research interests span magnesium-based energy storage systems, electrolyte design, and advanced spectroscopic analysis. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in Dalton Transactions, ACS Energy Letters, and Analytical Chemistry. His work aligns with sustainable materials development and energy innovation.
- Education: PhD in Chemistry (Strathclyde University, 2023), Research Associate role post-PhD
- Research Areas: Magnesium batteries, electrochemical systems, operando spectroscopy
Key contributions include methodologies for Raman and ATR-IR spectroscopy in magnesium battery electrolytes, atom-efficient synthesis of electrolytes, and studies on cationic magnesium complexes. He collaborates with experts in electrochemistry and materials science to advance battery technologies.
