Savvidis Pavlos

Prof. Savvidis Pavlos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Technology at the University of Crete since 2004. He is affiliated with the Microelectronics Research Group at FO.R.T.H.-Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (I.E.S.L.). His research focuses on polariton-based optoelectronic devices, quantum fluids, and quantum simulation technologies. He holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Athens (1998) and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Southampton (2001).

He has held visiting positions at Cavendish Labs (Cambridge University) and conducted postdoctoral research at UC Santa Barbara. His work has been featured in prestigious journals like Nature, Science, and Nature Physics. He was awarded the Leverhulme Fellowship (2014) to pursue research at Cambridge.

Research interests include polariton quantum circuits, terahertz dynamics in semiconductor nanostructures, and HEISINGBERG analogue polariton simulators. He collaborates with international teams in nanophotonics and quantum technologies.
