Dr. Saurabh Maiti serves as Associate Professor of Physics at Concordia University (2024–present), previously holding an Assistant Professor position there (2019–2024). His research focuses on condensed matter theory with expertise in spin-orbit coupled systems, unconventional superconductors, and engineered 2D lattices.
His academic credentials include a PhD in Physics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (2013) and a BTech(Honors) in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India (2007).
Maiti investigates quantum phenomena in spin-orbit systems where parity breaking generates chiral-spin waves for spintronics applications, studies correlation effects in unconventional superconductors using spectroscopic probes like Raman scattering and THz spectroscopy, and explores engineered 2D lattices with flat bands to examine interactions between strong correlations, topology, and gauge fields. His work spans heterostructures, quantum wells, graphene multilayers, and transition metal dichalcogenides.
Recent publications reveal novel light-matter coupling mechanisms via spins and many-body selection rules, demonstrating his leadership in topological quantum phenomena and spectroscopic response modeling in 2D materials.
