Saurabh Bhaskar Shaw

Saurabh Bhaskar Shaw is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at Western University, with a focus on AI-powered neuroscience and Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) for improving mental health diagnostics and treatment. He also holds roles as an AI Scientist & Scientific Advisor at ENO Headphones (2024–Ongoing) and Regulatory/Research Consultant at MindMaze (2024–Ongoing).

Shaw’s research explores the intersection of machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and neuroimaging to develop EEG-based biomarkers for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and concussion. His work includes dynamical systems analysis of EEG data, characterization of large-scale brain networks (e.g., Central Executive Network, Default Mode Network, Salience Network), and development of BCIs in Augmented Reality (AR) for patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He has also pioneered applications of ML in muscle knot detection via ultrasound and neurotechnology for Indigenous communities.
