Saumyadeep Mandal is a PhD candidate in Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), researching caste representations in Indian cinema and their socio-political impacts. His work focuses on how Dalit lived experiences are marginalized in mainstream media and the affective responses of audiences. He holds an M.A. in Sociology from Presidency University and an MSc in Media and Communications from LSE.
