Dr. Satyendra Thoudam is an Assistant Professor at Khalifa University's Department of Physics in Abu Dhabi. A specialist in astroparticle physics, he leads the LOFAR, KM3NeT, and ALTO collaborations, focusing on cosmic rays, high-energy gamma rays, and astrophysical neutrinos through both theoretical and experimental approaches.
- Ph.D (Astrophysics), Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands (2012)
- BARC Training School (Physics, Equivalent to M.Phil), India (2002)
- M.Sc (Physics), M.S. University of Baroda, India (2000)
- B.Sc (Physics), Modern College, Manipur (1997)
His research spans cosmic-ray measurements using radio telescopes (LOFAR/SKA), neutrino detection with KM3NeT, gamma-ray astronomy via the ALTO observatory, and theoretical studies on cosmic ray origin/propagation. Experimental work includes developing the LORA particle detector array and simulation tools like GEANT4 and CORSIKA.
Research projects involve: LOFAR cosmic-ray measurements, KM3NeT neutrino telescope, and ALTO gamma-ray observatory.
Current PhD students: Ankit Yadav and Abdulrahman Rashed Alhebsi. Opportunities for new PhD candidates exist during January-April and August-October admission cycles.
