Satish Gopal

Dr. Satish Gopal is an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and serves as the Cancer Program Director for UNC Project-Malawi. He specializes in oncology and infectious diseases, focusing on innovative approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in resource-limited settings. Since 2012, he has been the sole certified medical oncologist in Malawi, addressing HIV-associated cancers such as Kaposi sarcoma and lymphoma. His work integrates global health research with clinical practice, emphasizing capacity-building in sub-Saharan Africa.

He holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer title at the University of Malawi College of Medicine.
