Dr. Sathees Chandra is the newly appointed Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Samuel Merritt University (SMU), effective January 6th, 2025. With over two decades of academic experience, he has previously served as Associate Dean at Barry University’s College of Health and Wellness and Director of its Biomedical Sciences program, where he oversaw national rankings and collaborations with top-tier medical schools. He also held a tenured faculty position at Roosevelt University in Chicago, coordinating the Bioinformatics Graduate Certificate Program and engaging with biotech/pharmaceutical industries.

The College of Health Sciences at SMU encompasses the Departments of Basic Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Social Work, alongside statewide healthcare partnerships.
