Dr. Saskia Schicht serves as a Research Associate at the Bielefeld School of Education (BiSEd) with additional appointments in the Faculty of Linguistics and Literary Studies. She holds multiple institutional roles including positions in Continuing Education BiConnected, as an Equal Opportunities Officer, and within the R&D Center for Cross-Phase Teacher Education.
Her research focuses on innovative approaches to teacher education, particularly examining possibilities for phase-linking learning in continuing and further education contexts. She investigates cooperation processes in teacher training while maintaining strong expertise in Bertolt Brecht's theatre aesthetics, theory of showing, pop literature, performativity, corporeality and embodiment, and 20th-21st century theatre and dance. Her work uniquely bridges literary studies with performance arts to develop practical educational methodologies.
Dr. Schicht designs and organizes numerous workshops for teachers on aesthetic-cultural education, with special emphasis on implementing contemporary theatre and dance methodologies in school settings. Her workshop topics include approaches to contemporary theatre in classrooms, physical theatre for primary schools, rediscovering authors like Brecht through innovative methods, and developing teacher presence.
Within the university, she teaches courses in the Bachelor's program in Literature and maintains connections with both the educational sciences and literary studies departments, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to research and teaching.
