Heinz-Uwe Haus is an internationally renowned director and leading authority on Bertolt Brecht, holding the rank of Full Professor at the University of Delaware's Department of Theatre and Dance. Associated with the PTTP since 1986 as Artist-in-Residence and Adjunct Professor before joining UD's faculty in 1997, he combines academic and artistic excellence.
Education: Trained in Germany at the Film Academy Potsdam-Babelsberg (Acting) and the Humboldt-Universität in Berlin (Cultural Studies, German Literature, Theatre Science).
Research/Practice: Specializes in Brechtian methodologies, intercultural theatre, and political theatre. Has directed at National Theatres in Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, and collaborated with companies across Chile, Finland, Italy, South Korea, Canada, and the USA. Active in festivals across Europe.
Teaching: Guest professor at over a dozen North American universities including NYU, Villanova, and University of Washington. Delivered over 500 lectures/workshops globally. Publishes on intercultural/political themes in German, English, and Greek media.
