Dr. Sascha Struijs is an Assistant Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with both the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences (Clinical Psychology department) and the APH - Mental Health unit. Their research focuses on mental health interventions, college student wellbeing, and psychological treatment efficacy, with a particular emphasis on LGBTQ+ populations and digital health solutions. They collaborate internationally on large-scale studies like the World Mental Health International College Student (WMH-ICS) initiative.
Research interests include:
- Depression and anxiety treatment outcomes
- Internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Sexual orientation and mental health disparities
- Sleep and circadian rhythm interventions
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) treatment meta-analyses
