Dr. Sare Aricanli is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Durham University, specializing in Early Modern and Modern Chinese History. She is affiliated with the Institute of Medieval and Early Modern Studies and collaborates with institutions like the British Museum and Durham’s Oriental Museum.
Education:
- M.A. from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine
- M.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton University
Her research explores the social and cultural history of science and medicine in China, emphasizing multiculturalism, multilingualism, and global connections during the Qing dynasty. Current projects include a book on state medicine’s political and cultural dimensions.
