Sarah Zanette is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Luther College, University of Regina. She specializes in developmental psychology with research focusing on childhood deception, moral development, and forensic applications. Her work examines how children develop deceptive behaviors and how these lies can be reliably detected in various contexts.
Zanette's research investigates the development of lying behavior in children, factors influencing deception patterns, and methods for lie detection in both low-stakes and forensic settings. She explores moral judgments about lying and the long-term consequences of parenting practices involving deception.
Her research has been funded by CIHR, SSHRC, and AP-LS. Zanette teaches courses in introductory psychology, lifespan development, and social-emotional development. She collaborates with undergraduate and graduate students in her research on childhood deception.
