Sarah Wyman is an Associate Professor in the English Department at SUNY New Paltz, teaching 20th and 21st century comparative literature with a focus on poetry, visual arts, and drama. She co-coordinates the Sustainability Faculty Learning Community and teaches creative writing at Shawangunk Prison.
Research Interests: Her work bridges ecopoetics, ecocriticism, and interdisciplinary sustainability studies, exploring intersections of environmental ethics, artistic representation, and social justice. Recent projects include curating a teaching toolbox for sustainability engagement and completing a third poetry manuscript.
Scientific Awards:
- Second place, Joe Weixlmann prize for best scholarly article on 20th/21st century literature
Grants & Certificates: Universal Design for Learning (2024), Domestic Violence Victim-Witness Advocacy Certificate (2016), and Institut d'Études Françaises d'Avignon Certificate in French Literature (1994).
Service Activities: Member of the Education & Engagement Committee at Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, Sustainability Committee, Percival Everett Society, and International Network for the Study of the Lyric (INSL).
