Christelle Centi is a Lecturer in English Studies at the University of Brest, affiliated with the Heritage and Creation in Text and Image (HCTI, EA 4249) research group. Her work spans American literature (20th-21st centuries), true crime, investigative writing, screen adaptations, autobiography, and animal studies.
Education:
- PhD in English Studies (2021) from Université Rennes 2, with a thesis titled From Enigma to Affect: Literary Territories and Shifting Paradigms in the Novels of Percival Everett.
Her research explores intersections of American literary traditions with contemporary analyses of trauma, affect, and adaptation. She has presented widely at conferences, including topics on Münchhausen by Proxy, Gothic domesticity, and Percival Everett’s works.
Publications Trends: Recent works focus on Percival Everett’s deconstruction of language, Gothic narratives in Laird Hunt’s fiction, and true crime representations in screen culture.
Teaching: Offers courses in literature at Université de Bretagne Occidentale, including undergraduate literature modules and postgraduate MEEF (Master's in Education) literature instruction.
