معرفی
Professor Sarah Woodroffe is a faculty member in the Department of Geography at Durham University. Her research focuses on reconstructing Holocene and recent sea-level changes using microfossil-based methodologies, addressing critical questions about ice sheet history, crustal response, and future coastal vulnerability.
- Geographical Focus: Greenland, Indian Ocean, Australia, South Africa
- Methodologies: Diatom and foraminifera transfer functions, sediment compaction modeling
- Key Collaborations: With glaciologists, paleoseismologists, and climate modelers
Research Trends from her publications include sea-level reconstructions in high-latitude and tropical regions, glacial isostatic adjustment modeling, and paleotsunami analysis. Her work integrates multi-proxy datasets (e.g., chironomids, mangrove pollen, diatoms) to refine Quaternary climate and ice sheet mass balance estimates.
