معرفی
Sarah Wilson Kemsley is a Senior Research Associate at the University of East Anglia's School of Environmental Sciences, affiliated with the Climatic Research Unit and the Centre for Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences. She leads the ML4CLOUDS project, focusing on machine learning applications to constrain cloud feedback projections. Her research interests include cloud feedbacks, longwave cloud radiative effects, stochastic weather generators, and tackling climate uncertainty through pattern scaling techniques.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Theoretical Physics (1st class) from the University of York (2018)
- Doctor of Philosophy in Development of a Globally Calibrated Stochastic Weather Generator with the Pattern Scaling Technique from the Climatic Research Unit (2022)
Research Interests: Her work bridges climate modeling and statistical methodologies, with a focus on improving climate projections through stochastic models and machine learning. She investigates how cloud dynamics and large-scale meteorology influence climate feedback mechanisms and radiative effects.
Advising & Grants: While no formal advisees are listed, her projects like ML4CLOUDS (led by Peer Nowack) highlight collaborative grant-funded research. She contributes to interdisciplinary teams addressing climate uncertainty and weather variability.
Labs & Teams: Active within the Climatic Research Unit and Centre for Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, she collaborates globally on cloud physics and climate modeling initiatives.
