Sarah Wang is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Barnard College, where she explores intersections of mass incarceration, psychoanalysis, and colonized bodies through creative and critical writing. Her work appears in London Review of Books, The Nation, and Performa Magazine, among others.

An award-winning writer, she has received the Nelson Algren Prize for Fiction and fellowships from PEN America, the Center for Fiction, and the Asian American Writers' Workshop. Her creative practice spans multiple genres, including fiction, poetry, and epistolary collaboration with incarcerated writer Connie Leung, as documented in the 2020 PEN America publication.
Wang's critical work examines the corporeal impact of trauma and gendered violence, drawing on thinkers like Peter Levine and Andrea Dworkin. She is currently completing a novel about plastic surgery and immigrant dislocation, positioned at the intersection of body politics and psychological fragmentation. Her editorial collaborations extend to institutions like the Museum of Modern Art and semiotext(e).
