Sarah Wagner-McCoy is an Associate Professor of English and Humanities at Reed College, affiliated with the Department of English and the Division of Literature and Languages. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University, an M.A. from University College Dublin, and a B.A. from Columbia University. Her research focuses on 19th- and 20th-century U.S. literature, transatlantic pastoral traditions, and the intersection of literature with socio-economic themes like slavery, industrialization, and immigration. She is editing an edition of Charles W. Chesnutt's writings, supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and has authored a book manuscript analyzing realist novels' engagement with America's global identity.
