Dr. Sarah Singh is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Liverpool, part of the School of Law and Social Justice within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She serves as Director of the Feminist Legal Research and Action Network (FRAN) and Equity and Diversity Deputy (EDI) for Law. Her teaching focuses on Equity & Trusts (as Module Co-ordinator) and Law and Gender, integrating feminist perspectives.
Her research explores two primary areas: (1) feminist critiques of criminal law, particularly the criminalization of abused women and maternal accountability, and (2) socio-legal responses to animals, including regulatory challenges faced by UK animal rescues post-pandemic. She is a Co-Investigator on a project examining legal governance frameworks for dog rescues under austerity.
Recent publications include analyses of criminal justice gatekeeping mechanisms and vulnerability theory in legal contexts. She actively contributes to policy consultations on animal welfare legislation in Scotland and sits on the Access to Higher Education committee for Open Awards, promoting educational equity.
