Sarah Sheridan is an Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin, affiliated with both the Centre for Deaf Studies and the Centre for Language and Communication Studies within the School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences. She serves as the School Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, demonstrating leadership in promoting inclusive academic environments.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of language education and psychological wellbeing, with a strong focus on second language learning, learner motivation, anxiety, and overall wellbeing. She extends this focus to professional contexts, particularly examining workplace wellness for language teachers and sign language interpreters. Sarah is actively involved in the Erasmus+ K2-funded INCLUDEED project, which promotes immigrant and refugee integration in Europe through multilingual education and applied linguistics.
She is committed to professional development and leadership, currently participating in the Aurora Women in Leadership programme and holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Workplace Wellness. Her work emphasizes social justice, lifelong learning, and inclusive curriculum development.
Sarah contributes to institutional wellbeing initiatives as a member of the Healthy Trinity – Workplace Wellbeing group. Her interdisciplinary work bridges applied linguistics, educational psychology, and inclusion policy, positioning her as a key figure in advancing equity and wellness in academic and professional language communities.
