Sarah Scott is an Associate Professor and Oral Communication Program Director at Arkansas State University, affiliated with the Department of Communication Studies under the College of Liberal Arts and Communication.
- Education: Ph.D. from the University of Memphis, MA from Arkansas State University, and BA from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
- Teaching Specialties: Oral Communications, Communication Theory, Gender Communication, Graduate Communication Education, and Graduate Communication Theory.
Her research interests focus on the intersection of disability and ableist rhetorics, particularly within the context of Deafness and sign language. She examines Audism—prejudice against deaf individuals—and integrates Deaf Studies with gender and communication theory. Her work challenges systemic biases in rhetorical frameworks and curriculum design.
