Dr. Sarah Saint Hamilton is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Institute of Gerontology at the University of Georgia's College of Public Health. She serves as Director of Social Support Services for the Cognitive Aging Research and Education (CARE) Center, which provides dementia diagnosis, education, and support services. Her role includes mentoring Master of Social Work (MSW) students in practicum placements focusing on case management, psychosocial assessment, caregiver support groups, and community resource referrals. Dr. Saint Hamilton teaches seven courses annually, emphasizing bias exploration and diverse perspectives, particularly through her service-learning course engaging older adults in Athens.
Her professional expertise spans lifespan developmental psychology and licensed social work, with a focus on gerontology and cognitive aging. Dr. Saint Hamilton is committed to curriculum development within the Institute of Gerontology, designing courses that prioritize experiential learning and community engagement. She oversees the CARE Center’s social support initiatives while advancing interdisciplinary approaches to aging-related health challenges.
