Sarah Robinson is a Full Professor at Rennes School of Business (since 2022), previously serving as Professor in Management at the University of Glasgow (2019-2022) and Reader in HR and OB at the same institution (2016-2019). Her academic career includes roles at the University of Leicester (2011-2015) and Open University (2007-2011). She holds a PhD in Management Learning from Lancaster University (2001-2005), an MSc in Applied Linguistics (Leicester, 1993-1994), and a BA in Comparative History (Essex, 1984-1987).
Her research focuses on leadership, organizational learning, professional careers, and wellbeing in academia. Key contributions include critical analyses of populism’s impact on organizations, CMS academics’ early career challenges, and symbolic power dynamics. She edited the European Management Journal (2021–) and serves on editorial boards of Management Learning, Human Relations, and others.
Robinson has led initiatives like the Centre for Unframed Thinking (CUT) as its Academic Executive Director. Her service includes AACSB accreditation leadership at Glasgow and British Academy of Management governance roles. She has published over 50 refereed articles, co-edited books on Bourdieu’s influence in management studies and academic careers, and presented at major conferences worldwide.
