Sarah Reddington is an Associate Professor in Child and Youth Study at Mount Saint Vincent University's Faculty of Professional Studies. Her research employs critical frameworks including poststructural theory, affect theory, and new materialism to examine how institutional practices impact marginalized youth, particularly in educational contexts.
Dr. Reddington's scholarship focuses on critical disability studies and gender studies, investigating how underrepresented youth are affected by dominant knowledge systems. She founded the PACE (Physically Active Children Excel) program, a community initiative delivered on campus through student volunteers that promotes physical literacy in young children.
Her publications examine diverse topics including early childhood educators' conversations about gender expression, authentication of disability perspectives in schools, and Indigenous youth experiences with Canadian education systems. Current research investigates deinstitutionalization, prison abolition, and migrant justice through intersectional frameworks.
