Sarah Powell

Sarah Powell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Opus College of Business, University of St. Thomas. She teaches undergraduate Operations & Supply Chain Management courses across multiple sections for the Fall 2025 semester.

Her educational background includes:

• B.S. in Mathematics and Physics from Harding University
• PhD in Business Analytics from the University of Iowa

Dr. Powell's research focuses on innovative analytical solutions for transportation and delivery challenges, developing mathematical models and solution techniques to address complex operational problems. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in logistics optimization and supply chain design.

She currently instructs four sections of OPMT 200 (Operations & Supply Chain Management), covering core topics including process management, six-sigma quality, inventory control, lean management, and supply chain strategy. Her teaching emphasizes the strategic role of operations in achieving sustainable competitive advantage.
