Sarah Plumb is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Leicester's School of Museum Studies, where she has been a core team member since 2017. She joined the institution in 2013 as a PhD researcher and transitioned to a Research Assistant role in 2014, supporting the RCMG's Cultural Value project. Her academic career combines research, teaching, and practical experience in museum education and equity-focused initiatives.
Previously, she worked as an educator in UK institutions like Modern Art Oxford and Compton Verney, specializing in engaging marginalized communities. She also served as a council member and area representative for Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education. Her research focuses on fostering equitable and inclusive cultural organizations through impactful projects.
Her professional roles include collaborations with RCMG colleagues on sector-wide research, as well as teaching at Manchester School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University as an Associate Lecturer. Her work bridges academia and practice, emphasizing social justice in cultural institutions.
