Sarah Oatway is a Researcher affiliated with the School of Health & Life Sciences at Teesside University. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy and has a dual academic background in Physiotherapy (BSc, Teesside University, 2015–2018) and Performing Arts (BA, Middlesex University, 1994–1997). Her primary role includes contributing to clinical research projects, notably as a Research Assistant (RA) on the STOP: Studies into the Treatment Of Phantom limb pain project (2021–2026). She also serves as a Physiotherapist at Guisborough Rugby Union Football Club since 2018.
Her research focuses on chronic musculoskeletal pain, sensory discrimination training, and phantom limb pain. Key contributions include a 2022 systematic review on sensory discrimination training for chronic pain. Her work intersects clinical practice and evidence-based interventions, emphasizing systematic reviews and randomized controlled trials.
