Sarah O. Meadows is a Senior Sociologist and Professor at the RAND School of Public Policy. She specializes in military families, military health systems, and harmful behaviors such as sexual harassment and assault. Her research focuses on readiness, resilience, and reproductive health among active-duty service members and their families. Meadows holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Duke University and a B.A. from the University of Virginia, with a postdoc at Princeton University's Bendheim-Thoman Center.
Her work includes evaluating military health policies, analyzing sexual harassment in the Army, and assessing reproductive health access. Key projects include studies on the Department of Defense's health readiness assessments and the impact of the Dobbs decision on military recruitment. Meadows has contributed over 100 publications across RAND reports and academic journals.
Her research highlights the intersection of military life and family well-being, emphasizing policies to support resilience and address systemic challenges.
