Dr. Sarah O'Shea is a Distinguished Professor and Dean of Graduate Research at Charles Sturt University, alongside an Honorary Professorial role at the University of Wollongong. She holds editorial and advisory roles with Taylor & Francis Group, the Australian Research Council, and the University of Surrey. With a Ph.D. in Sociology of Education (University of Sydney, 2009), her work focuses on educational equity, student access, and policy. She has secured over $3.8M in research funding and led the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education, managing budgets exceeding $4.5M. Recognized globally, her awards include the Churchill Fellowship (2017) and IAS Fellowship (2023). Her research addresses first-in-family student persistence, disability inclusion, and career development learning.
