Sarah O'Reilly is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at the University of York, actively contributing to undergraduate nursing education and clinical training since 2005. She oversees the Clinical Simulation Unit, focusing on low- and high-fidelity simulation exercises to enhance clinical competencies.
Education:
- BSc (Hons) in Nursing from Leeds Metropolitan University (1992)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Health Education/Health Promotion
- Post Graduate Diploma in Health Professional Education (University of Huddersfield, 2009)
Her research interests center on Infection Prevention and Control, Clinical Skills, and Simulated Learning. She integrates these into mandatory training modules like basic life support, moving/handling, and acute care protocols.
Externally, Sarah is a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and serves as a First Aid Assessor. She contributes to institutional governance as Deputy Chair of the Fitness to Practise committee and a member of the Health and Safety group.
