Sarah N. Douglas serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Michigan State University, bringing practical experience from her background as a special education teacher to research focused on children with disabilities and educational equity.

- Doctor of Philosophy in Special Education from Pennsylvania State University (2011)
Dr. Douglas's research program emphasizes augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) development for individuals with severe disabilities, with significant contributions to inclusive classroom practices and assistive technology integration. Her work addresses critical gaps in supporting English language learners with special needs through the RADD Lab, where she develops evidence-based communication interventions that bridge clinical and educational settings.
