Sarah Lockridge is a Senior Lecturer in Anthropology and Women & Gender Studies at the University of Southern Maine, affiliated with the Muskie School of Public Service and Women and Gender Studies Program. Her work bridges economic anthropology, gender studies, and environmental sustainability, focusing on Africa and the African diaspora.

Research: Explores impacts of globalization/climate change on indigenous communities, women’s rights, and cultural heritage preservation. Notable projects include studies on Malian women’s craft production under tourism pressures and skin-lightening practices’ socio-psychological dimensions.
