Sarah Kunjummen is an Assistant Instructional Professor at the University of Chicago, affiliated with the Department of English Language and Literature in The College. She earned her PhD in English from the University of Chicago in 2019, with undergraduate degrees in English and Classical Languages from the University of Michigan.
- Research Focus: 16th-17th century British literature, early modern conceptions of corporeality and sociability, intersections of poetry/religion/classical reception
- Teaching: Courses include Faeries, Demons and Alchemists: Science, Magic and the Supernatural in Early Modern England (Autumn 2024) and Renaissance Now (Winter 2025)
- Publications: Criticism journal essay on early modern women's writing; forthcoming Oxford University Press edition of George Herbert's classical language verse
- Affiliations: Faculty Forward/SEIU Local 73 union member
In her personal time, she engages with Chicago's cultural spaces including thrift stores, Midway ice skating, and culinary experimentation with no-knead bread.
