Professor Sarah Knight is a Professor of Renaissance Literature at the University of Leicester, affiliated with the School of Arts. Her research focuses on 16th- and 17th-century literature, particularly English and Latin works, emphasizing multilingualism, translation, and cultural exchange. She holds a B.A. in Classics and English and advanced degrees in Renaissance Studies.
Her professional roles include former President of the Society for Neo-Latin Studies, Chair of the Academic Advisory Board at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Neo-Latin Studies, and membership in the Warburg Institute’s Advisory Council. She has received prestigious awards, including British Academy and Society of Antiquaries fellowships.
Her teaching and research explore early modern European educational practices and their influence on literary creation. She advocates for interdisciplinary and multilingual approaches to literary studies.
