Sarah-Kate Moore is a part-time lecturer with the Department of French & Italian Studies, specializing in French language pedagogy and literature. She holds an MA in French (2024), a PhD in English (University of Washington), and an MFA in Poetry. Her academic journey includes teaching French while pursuing her MA, translating Quebecois author Anne-Marie Desmeules' work, and attending specialized training in Quebec City to integrate Quebecois culture into French language education.

Sarah-Kate's research and teaching focus on second-language acquisition, translation ethics, and Quebecois literature. She emphasizes non-native speaker perspectives and embodied translation practices. Her recent pedagogical training at Laval University highlights her commitment to cultural engagement in language instruction.
She has received two notable awards: the FLAS Fellowship during her graduate studies and a scholarship from the Centre de la francophonie des Amériques for advanced pedagogical training in Quebec. Her teaching philosophy combines self-compassion with recognition of non-native strengths in language instruction.
Currently, Sarah-Kate teaches French 102 and 103, aiming to support adult learners and non-traditional students in French language education. Her study abroad experiences in Paris and Quebec City, alongside collaboration with scholars like Hedwige Meyer and Richard Watts, shape her interdisciplinary approach to Francophone studies.
