Dr. Sarah K. Woodley is a faculty member at Duquesne University’s School of Science and Engineering in the Department of Biological Sciences. She is an integrative physiologist conducting interdisciplinary research on environmental stressors, amphibian skin secretions, and science education pedagogy.
- Ph.D. in Biology from Arizona State University
- M.S. in Ecology and Evolution from University of Chicago
- B.A. in French and B.S. in Biology with Honors from Indiana University
Her research focuses on the intersection of environmental stressors and vertebrate physiology, including:
- Impact of pesticides, acid mine drainage, and climate change on amphibian neurodevelopment, immune function, and behavior
- Antimicrobial and pheromonal properties of amphibian skin secretions
- Community-engaged learning pedagogy in science education
