Sarah Hodge is a Sessional Academic and Research Assistant at the School of Art & Design, Australian National University (ANU). She holds a PhD in Art History from ANU (2020–2024) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History, Archaeology, and Advanced French from the same institution (2016–2019).
Her research focuses on the history of fashion and dress, particularly gender and materiality in 19th-century Britain. Her 2024 PhD dissertation explored women’s historicised fancy dress in 19th-century Britain. Recent publications include a transcultural analysis of Queen Victoria’s Banarasi brocade and a review of Judith Anderson: Australian Star, First Lady of the American Stage.
