Sarah Gordon is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education and Early Years at Sheffield Hallam University, serving as Course Leader for the PGCE in Early Years/Primary Education. She holds affiliations with the Department of Education, Childhood and Inclusion and the Social and Economic Research Institute. With over 20 years of experience across Early Years, Inclusion, and Creative Partnerships sectors, her career spans roles in nurseries, schools, local authorities, and teacher training.
Her teaching responsibilities include leading modules on Early Years Science, Inclusion/SEND, and Masters-level tutoring. She actively contributes to the PGCE program and serves as a TIS trainer.
Research focuses on professional development via coaching (e.g., TWiTCH program) and multiagency collaborations like the Meadows Research Nursery—a partnership with Watercliffe Meadow Primary School, Sheffield City Council, and Save the Children UK. This initiative aims to enhance early years education outcomes through research and innovation, involving students in real-world projects.
