Sarah Fritz is a PhD Candidate in Economics at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (since April 2020) and a Research Associate at the Leibniz Institute for Economic Research Halle (IWH) since February 2020. She holds positions at the IWH Centre for Evidence-Based Policy Advice (IWH-CEP), focusing on labor, urban, and public economics with an emphasis on place-based policies, local labor markets, and firm dynamics.
Education:
- Bachelor's equivalent (with Distinction) in European Politics, Economics, and History from Sciences Po Paris (2014–2017)
- M.Sc. in Economic and Social Sciences from Università Bocconi (2017–2019)
- PhD Candidate in Economics at MLU Halle-Wittenberg (2020–present)
Research Interests: Her work examines the impacts of regional policy, spatial distribution of economic activities, and political measures. Key themes include EU cohesion policy, labor market dynamics, and evidence-based policy advice. She has conducted visiting research at the University of Essex (2023) and University of British Columbia (2022–2023).
