Her research explores the cultural and historical dimensions of reproductive technologies, including IVF, cloning, stem cells, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis. She examines how these innovations reshape kinship, biological understanding, and societal norms, with a focus on bioethics, visual culture, and postcolonial science studies. Recent publications address embryo models, the 14-day rule, and global fertility trends.
Key awards include grants from the Wellcome Trust, ESRC, and British Academy. She serves on the editorial board of Reproductive Biomedicine Online and chairs the Anne McLaren Trust. Her interdisciplinary approach integrates ethnography, feminist theory, and bioscientific analysis.
