Sarah Forrester

Dr. Sarah Forrester is an Associate Professor in the Division of Epidemiology at the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences, UMass Chan Medical School. She holds secondary appointments in the T.H. Chan School of Medicine and Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, spanning clinical investigation, MD/PhD programs, and population health sciences.

Research Focus: Dr. Forrester investigates health inequities in aging populations, particularly examining how structural racism and social determinants drive cardiovascular disease and cognitive decline in Black and Latino communities. Her work includes biological aging biomarkers, stress physiology, and pandemic response interventions.

Recent publications highlight interdisciplinary collaborations in epidemiology, geriatrics, and cardiology, with methodological expertise in longitudinal cohort studies (e.g., CARDIA, SAGE-AF, MESA).
