Mayra Tisminetzky

Mayra Tisminetzky is an Associate Professor in the Division of Health Systems Science and Geriatric Medicine in the Department of Medicine at UMass Chan Medical School. She holds additional roles at the T.H. Chan School of Medicine (Departments of Medicine and Population and Quantitative Health Sciences) and the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (Departments of Masters in Clinical Investigation and Population Health Sciences).

Education: MPH in Public Health (University of Massachusetts Amherst), MD (University of Buenos Aires Medical School), and PhD in Clinical & Population Health (University of Massachusetts Medical School).

Research focuses on multimorbidity management and clinical outcomes in older adults, particularly those with heart failure and multiple chronic conditions (MCC). Her work includes NIA RO1-funded studies on treatment patterns in heart failure patients with MCC.

Key research areas span geriatrics, cardiology, and public health, with a focus on optimizing care for elderly populations. Recent studies address food insecurity among caregivers, hospital readmissions post-MI, and the impact of comorbidities on treatment outcomes.

Grants: NIH/NIA RO1 grant for examining therapies in heart failure patients with MCC. Collaborations include co-authors Goldberg, Gurwitz, and McManus.
