Sarah Eron is a Professor of English at the University of Rhode Island, specializing in 18th-century literature, cognitive studies, and Enlightenment philosophy of mind. She holds a PhD from Cornell University and has taught courses integrating neuroscience with literary analysis. Her research bridges historical and contemporary approaches to memory, authorship, and aesthetics.

Her key research interests include the intersection of cognitive science and literary form, particularly how memory functions in early novels. Current projects include a co-edited Routledge Companion to Eighteenth-Century Literature and studies on Jane Austen’s use of transactive memory.
Her courses reflect this interdisciplinary focus, including Novels & the Neuroscience of Memory and Jane Austen, Therapist. She actively engages with cognitive studies frameworks to reinterpret classic texts through modern scientific perspectives.
